I sat in the bath crying, eight months pregnant. I’d cried over plenty during pregnancy - missing Heinz spaghetti hoops, not being able to see my feet - but this time it was different. I realised I didn’t want to be a teacher anymore.

We were already planning to leave Dubai after four wonderful years to move home and raise our family. As I sat there, all I could picture was my childhood home - walls filled with photographs. Every age, every season, every ordinary and extraordinary moment. My mum loved photos and so did I.

That’s when it became clear. I wanted to spend my time doing something I loved, something that mattered - capturing real moments.
